Printing Down Under
Print Day In May was started by the Monterey Penninsula Fine Art Print Club in 2007 to encourage printmakers everywhere to print on the same day. Participants all over the world share their involvement through a dedicated blog.
Accordingly
On the 1st of May
Magpie members Beth, Mei and Sandra spent the day making prints in the studio at Belair. We finished printing as our collegues in Monterey were just waking up and as they began their work, we sat outside watching a chilly autumn sunset. We were warmed not only by the fire in the chiminea but also by thoughts of our shared experience.
Edible Book Exhibition
The first Annual Edible Book Low Tea was held at Magpie Studios on the 28th of March as part of the International Edible Book Festival. All exhibits were, as the rules dictate, entirely edible and were recognised as a book either by shape or content. We joined book artists and foodies from all over the world in showing and then tasting our creations. You can view all the entries in our Galleries section.
